Car Insurance Toyota (Car Insurance). what carburetor should i get?what carburetor should i get? i have a 93 Chevy c1500 Cheyenne 2WD 6 cyl 4.3L trying to get a 4bbl performance carb but cannot find a good one please help. A blue printed QuadraJet set up with the right sized air bleeds, etc will out perform any other carb you can put on it and will also run circles around them all with respect to MPG's. However, if you just throw on some out of the box or off the shelf QuadraJet on there, you'll cuss the day you made that choice, so pay the $200-400 to have a Blueprinter such as myself build one up for you or leave the TBi on there and move on. Stock in tank fuel injection pump will also not work for a Carb due to the high fuel pressure. You can't find a good performance carb for a 4.3? What would be wrong with a Stage-prepped Quadrajet, a Demon, or a Holley Avenger? The only think you would need to do is match the cfm to your 4.3, and make sure you match the flange to the intake. So your converting the truck from TBI to carb on a 4.3L v6? an edelbrock 500cfm would work good on it. a holly 570cfm street avenger too. quadrajunks are to hard to tune Auto parts : Polishing Cloth Acura 1995 . Faulty TPS or transmission rebuild? 1984 Toyota Supra, straight 6, 5mge, auto 4spd overdrive, 294,xxx miles My car has been having problems. I thought it was the transmission but I have read that a faulty TPS can cause the following symptoms. If the car is stopped, and I "floor" the gas pedal, it won't take off. It'll start off in what seems, 2nd gear, climb speed and eventually kick down to first gear for the remainder of the gear, then shifts to 2nd, and early shifts into 3rd. LOL Also my kick down won't work except from 4th to 3rd. Now if I put the gear shifter into first gear myself then it'll take off if i floor it, but once i pop it into second gear, it'll still early shift to 3rd. also sometimes my car doesn't shift into over drive.. specially when it's cold. i know i need a new car.. but i like this one too(: aside from all the bs it's running and pretty reliable car insurance. Suspension squeak for a Nissan Sentra? Suspension squeak for a Nissan Sentra? My 2005 nissan sentra has been making a squeak everytime I go over small bumps and cracks. It is coming from the front of the car, and the sound can be made if you push down hard enough on the hood. However, the sound disappears when it rains, so I believe something needs to be greased or oiled. I did find a thread on a website about how to possibly fix this problem however it's for a pontiac grand am. This thread says "Look at the 2 shock towers under the hood over each front wheel (Not in the wheel well). Don't just spray the bolts, look down in the opening, you will see 6 little holes down inside but around the outside of the circle that surrounds the bolt. Spray for about 1-2 seconds per hole." So I was wondering if anyone knew where I would find the spot I need to spray some lithium grease on my sentra. I have an idea of where I need to spray but I do not see any type of openings within the spot. Any advice would be great, thanks! Also if anyone has an idea of how much it costs to replace a v belt or serpentine belt at a mechanics would be great! car insurance. Auto parts : > Replacement Step Pad Clip Mitsubishi 2007. Toyota . How to Repair Truck TiresTires are a combination of steel and nylon sealed within rubber through vulcanization. Passenger tires typically use four plies or layers of nylon and rubber within the sidewalls of the tire. Truck tires use between six and 10 plies creating a sturdier sidewall for use on areas of rough terrain. The heavier tire withstands more damage, but nothing stops a nail from punching through a tire. Repairing truck tires follows the same process as repairing a passenger tire. You clean the area, apply a plug and patch, and replace the tire. Difficulty:Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Jack Lug wrench Tire plug and patch Tire liquid cement Pre-buffer solution Hand scraper Hand-held drill 1/4-inch drill bit Pliers Wire cutters Stitcher 2 pry bars Spray bottle with window cleaner Valve core removal tool RagsDismount and Mount the Tire Step by Step : 1 Remove the tire from the vehicle. Raise the wheel up with a jack beneath the axle, and remove the lug nuts using a lug wrench. Set the lug nuts to the side. Remove the valve core with a valve core removal tool and release all the air pressure. 2 Break the seal the bead has with the rim by placing a pry bar between the bead and rim and applying substantial downward pressure. Repeat around the circumference of the rim for both sides until the bead is fully dislodged from lip of the rim. 3 Place the tip of a pry bar beneath the bead and pull the pry bar down and across the width of the rim pulling the bead over the lip. Repeat with a second pry bar a few inches away. Push the second pry bar around the circumference of the rim until the bead is fully removed from the rim. Repeat the same process for the lower bead without turning the rim over. 4 Once the tire is repaired, spray the bead of the tire with window cleaner and lean it against the rim. Apply pressure in a circular rocking motion to get the lower bead to pop over the lip of the rim. You may have to use a pry bar placed under the lip of the rim and pushed outward to get the bead over the lip. 5 Place a pry bar beneath the lip of the rim and push the outer bead over the lip. Place a second pry bar a few inches away in the same manner and move the second pry bar around the circumference of the rim until the bead is back on the rim. Air the tire up using an air pump. 6 Replace the tire onto the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts down. Lower the vehicle slowly, and then tighten the lug nuts with a lug wrench until they are at factory-recommended torque. Repair the Flat Step by Step : 1 Remove the cause of the hole (nail, screw, etc.) using pliers. Clean out the hole using a drill with a 1/4-inch drill bit. 2 Apply some pre-buffer solution to the inner lining of the tire and scrape the area clean with a hand-scraper. Wipe up any remaining liquid and debris with a rag. 3 Insert a plug into the hole and pull it through using pliers. Snip the plug flush with the inner and outer surfaces of the tire with wire cutters. 4 Apply a thin layer of liquid tire cement to the area surrounding the plug. Allow it to dry for two minutes, and then place a patch over the area. Use a stitcher (a rolling tool with dull teeth) to firmly press the patch into place. Allow the area to set for a few minutes, and mount the tire onto the rim.
Toyota . How to Repair a Tire SealYour tires maintain a good seal when the bead -- a metal cord encased in the lip of the tire -- presses firmly against the lip of the rim. Cold weather and driving over potholes or curbs can loosen the seal, causing air leaks. Rust and damage to the rims also may cause a seal leak. Most seal leaks allow a few pounds of pressure to be released per day. Repairing the seal requires properly seating the bead and applying bead seal. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Wire brush Pry bar Rubber mallet Bead seal Valve core removal tool Air pump Rag Step by Step : 1 Remove the tire. Drain any air out of the tire by removing the valve core with a valve core removal tool. Wait for all the air to escape the tire before proceeding. 2 Place a pry bar between the lip of the rim and the tire bead. Apply ample downward pressure to unseat the bead. Push the bead approximately 1 to 2 inches from the lip. Repeat at intervals of 3 to 4 inches until the bead is entirely pushed back. Repeat the process on both sides. 3 Clean the surface of the rim where the bead sits with a wire brush. Dust off any debris and wipe clean with a rag. Repair any dents in the lip with a rubber mallet to straighten out the metal. 4 Apply bead seal over the circumference of the bead on both sides. Stand the tire up and apply pressure to it by leaning onto the tire. 5 Pump air into the tire with the valve core removed. Do not allow fingers or loose articles to hang near the bead. Inflate the tire to the factory-recommended pressure level and replace the valve core with the valve core removal tool. Monitor the bead for any signs of leaks. Tips & Warnings A damaged bead will not be able to maintain a seal and cannot be repaired. Replace any tires when you can see metal threads along the bead or that the internal cord is exposed. *e" If you hear a whining or humming sounds on curves, your wheel bearings may be wearing. Chapter 18 turns you on to the sensual thrill of repacking them with your bare hands. *> If your tires "tramp" (make a weird, rhythmic sound as you drive), check inflation, tire wear, and wheel balancing (see Chapter 18). v0 If you hear squealing when you step on the brake, you've probably worn the brake pads down too far. Get them replaced immediately. Some disc brakes are naturally noisy, but if the sound gets louder, take heed. j> If something ticks rhythmically while your engine idles, shut off the engine, wait ten minutes, and then check the oil level. The hydraulic lifters that operate the valves in your engine can make these noises if you're down as little as a quart of oil. If the level is low, add oil up to the "Full" line on the dipstick and check again in a couple of days. If you have enough oil, have a mechanic check the valve adjustment if your car has adjustable valves (some don't). Faulty valves can seriously affect your car's performance and fuel consumption. e* If you hear a loud knocking sound in your engine, pull to the side of the road immediately and call for road service. It may be just a loose rocker arm or carbon buildup inside the engine, but if it's a loose bearing or a faulty piston, letting it go unheeded can destroy the whole engine. Mild knocking or "pinging" may be the result of using fuel with the wrong octane rating. Check your owner's manual to see whether your vehicle needs low-octane or premium gas. . This condition is often due to using fuel with too high an octane rating, but a tank of inferior gas or an idle speed that's set to high may also be the culprit. * If you hear rumbling noises coming from under or toward the rear of the vehicle, the trouble could be a defective exhaust pipe, muffler, or catalytic converter; or it could be coming from a worn universal joint or some other part of the drive train. Have a service facility put the car up on a hoist and find the problem. If you hear clunking under your vehicle, especially when you go over a bump, check the shock absorbers and suspension system. If it's toward the rear, your tailpipe or muffler may be loose. * If you hear a whistling noise coming from under the hood, check the hoses for vacuum leaks. If the whistling comes from inside the vehicle, there's probably a leak in the weather-stripping. Patch the weather- Toyota . Car more horse power?

As shown in Figure 20-1, take off the rubber disc and insert a piece of tubing in its place (about VA inches will do). Then put the plugs in your ears, run the engine, and move the tube end of the stethoscope around the hood area. Be careful not to get a shock or get your hair tangled in the fan. If your brakes squeal, the brake linings may be glazed or worn. Some disc brake pads have built-in wear sensors that squeal when it's time to replace them. Even though some disc brakes tend to squeal under normal circumstances, it's safer to have the brakes checked, or follow the instructions in Chapter 18 and check them yourself. Toyota . Try the following: • With the engine off, check the spark plug cables for breaks or shorts in the wiring. • With the engine off, remove the spark plugs one at a time and check whether they're clean and properly gapped. Replace any that are fouled or burned. If that doesn't help, have a technician check the ignition system with an electronic engine analyzer. People used to check spark plugs by holding the end of the spark plug cable close to a metal surface to see whether a spark jumped across when the engine was cranked, but the high voltage in most ignition systems now makes that procedure extremely dangerous. If the idling is rough but even and your vehicle has a carburetor, the carburetor settings may need to be adjusted. Chapter 13 shows you how to do this yourself. If that doesn't work, you may need to replace the carburetor. Fuel-injected vehicles don't have carburetors, and a technician must check and adjust these complex electronic systems.
